Mark Story is the Director of New Media at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, headquartered in Washington, DC.
He directs the Commission’s social media strategy and tactics, including managing platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook as well as audience-specific Web micro sites. He is also involved heavily in the Commission’s public affairs and investor outreach activities. Prior to the SEC, Mark was a senior vice president at Fleishman-Hillard , a vice president at APCO Worldwide, and a director at a boutique online public relations firm in DC.
In addition, Mark is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland University College and taught at Georgetown University from 2007 – 2009 where, at both universities, he designed and developed courses about using social media for public relations and public affairs.
Mark is also a blogger, guest columnist and podcaster, all on the use of social media.
